Melissa McGrath

Melissa McGrath is a curator, writer and collaborator who lives on Whadjuk Nyoongar boodjar. Her practice focuses on the interseations of contemporary and community practice. She is a passionate advocate for, and participant in Artist-Run Initiatives, having collaborated on Cool Change Contemporary, Toy Returns Project Space, Runway Journal (NSW), Reception Project Space (SA), State Team WA, and Paper Mountain ARI. She currently works as Curator at the Mundaring and Midland Junction Arts Centres, is chairperson at Cool Change Contemporary and one of the editors of Semaphore.

Kaya. We wish to acknowledge the Whadjuk People of Boorloo boodja who are the traditional owners of the land where Semaphore is made. We respect their culture, their custodianship, and their continuing contribution to the life of this city and this region. That includes recognising and respecting sovereignty while working in solidarity towards a treaty and supporting ongoing connection to country.
