Bec Bowman

People who love art and people who love writing are Bec Bowmans' kind of people. She loves that she can talk to so many talented artists and writers in Perth and beyond as a presenter of ArtBeat on RTRFM. Being an interviewer is to be a conduit for the artists, theatre makers, writers and performers who are interviewed. The art of interviewing involves research, reflection and deep listening, as well as self-awareness and insight into your own personal response to the works produced - skills which she has honed thorugh her experience on RTR and as a mental health nurse.
Bec is a member of the 2021 Perth Festival Arts Writing Group.

Kaya. We acknowledge the Whadjuk People of Boorloo boodja who are the traditional owners of the land where Semaphore is made. We respect their culture, their custodianship, and their continuing contribution to the life of this city and this region. That includes recognising and respecting sovereignty while working in solidarity towards a treaty and supporting ongoing connection to country. That means linguistic rights, economic opportunity, and artistic endeavour. To their Elders, past, present and emerging, we say thanks.
